Keara Sherman, PhD
Keara D. Sherman, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist in both Missouri and Kansas. She received her doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Missouri – Kansas City in 2020. Prior to obtaining her Ph.D., Dr. Sherman worked for several years as a school counselor outside of Boston, MA. She has experience working with children, teens, adults of all ages, and couples. Dr. Sherman’s areas of interest include identity concerns, anxiety, depression, substance use and behavioral addictions, and anger management. Additionally, she also works with athletes and those involved in sports and performance. Dr. Sherman has experience with adopted individuals, as well as other individuals impacted by adoption. She uses primarily an Existential approach to help clients create meaning, take ownership of their lives, and become more self-aware. She believes that humor and directness have important roles in the therapeutic space, and emphasizes the therapeutic relationship as the primary driver of growth. Dr. Sherman also provides comprehensive assessment and psychodianostic services for a variety of concerns, including learning disorders, ADHD, Autism Spectrum disorder, and mood/personality disorder.
